Rosconi Bros, one of the most respected of the remaining locally owned and operated family concerns in Bathurst, recently celebrated 63 years in business.
Brothers Antonio and Dudley started the business with automotive workshops in George St, Bathurst, in 1945. New and used car sales were a natural progression and over the years they have held a variety of franchises, namely Desoto, BMC, Toyota, Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, and Honda.
The business moved a number of times before settling in Bentinck St from which site the brothers conducted both motor vehicle and agricultural machinery franchises, having taken on the Fiat farm machinery around 1965.
Tony retired in 1965 and Dudley in 1977, allowing his sons David and Paul to take over. In 1976 Rosconi Bros moved into purpose-built premises at 160 William St, with the two arms of the business still operating under the one roof. It was another 4 years till the farm machinery moved into its own premises.
Rosconi Bros started selling Mazda commercial vehicles in 1981, before being appointed as the Mazda Dealer for the Bathurst area the following year.
When Paul retired in 2000, David and Heather Rosconi teamed up to lead the business into the new century.
158 William St is the home of Rosconi Mazda with the used car department next door at 160
